Robert Vaughn served the people of Ohio for ten years as an attorney and in court administration before joining Cedarville University in 2009. His roles with the state included serving as a staff attorney at the Court of Claims, as an Assistant Attorney General, and as Case Management Counsel at the Supreme Court of Ohio. Prior to entering academic service, Mr. Vaughn was also a law clerk to former Supreme Court Justice Robert R. Cupp. Mr. Vaughn currently serves as Assistant University Counsel to Cedarville University. He also teaches at the University in the areas of criminal law, criminal procedure, and the American court system. He has presented seminars to practitioners and academics alike and has contributed to the Encyclopedia of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Mr. Vaughn’s private practice experience includes being an advocate for crime victims in state and local jurisdictions.

Mr. Vaughn and his wife, Pamela, have four children. They are active in their local church – First Presbyterian Church in South Charleston. Mr. Vaughn has also enjoyed being a Boy Scout leader in his community, and he currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Emmanuel Christian Academy, where his children attend school.
